Fairytale AU Meme [Open]
Pick one of my characters and I'll toss a disney/fairytale au scenario at you! I've got some rough descriptions of their roles below. You can start, or you can just give their name in a top-level and I’ll write something up. These can be shippy or not, although given the descriptions I’ll probably tend towards that way unless you tell me you don’t want that
Alec: Damsel in distress, suicidal, who thinks this whole thing is stupid and this story can be ended if anyone at any point just solves the problem of the ‘princess’ for good
Annabel: Necromancer, who tries to find love by bringing hers back from the dead
Dominic: Knight, who’s pretty sure that he’s supposed to slay the ‘dragon’ but might end up falling in love with him/her instead
I-No: The evil witch, finds delight in other people’s suffering
Ivy: The persecuted heroine, who badly wants to believe in love but doesn’t really believe that it can trump the facts of life
Kai: Prince charming, careful and earnest, hugely romantic who thinks that life’s course can be changed by love
Ky: Either the hero, earnest but not very good at people, or the damsel in distress who’s going to apologize for having to be rescued
Rose: Ghost girl, who will accept a coat in exchange for being able to touch and feel for a while
Sol: The dragon, why are you waking him up from his nap just to rescue a princess? He doesn’t have time for this crap.
Valentine: The evil king whose goal in all of this is power and also just seeing the ordinary people scramble

Kai
So once he managed to get this form working for him, he flew eagerly into the kingdom, but, um. Apparently if you're smaller it takes longer to fly, so Ryoji perches himself on a high up window for a break. Between the flight and maintaining this form, he's a little tired.
no subject
The palace, though, Kai does know, so it holds little enough interest for him. Instead he spends a lot of time gazing out the window, and when he sees the unusual shape — a bird, it has to be — he moves a little towards it, curious. “Hey there,” he says to it, in the manner of a man speaking to a plant, or his dogs, or anything that he doesn’t expect to hear speak back.
no subject
"Hello!" the creature chirps right back, and... belatedly, Ryoji realizes maybe he should have kept quiet. Talking animals, if the boy couldn't tell he was a dragon, were not uncommon but not exactly well received everywhere. Shoot. He'll have to cover... by making polite conversation. This is how you people, right? "What's your name? I'm Ryoji!"
no subject
“I’m Prince Kai,” he answers, and he’s a little surprised that the creature doesn’t already know that. then again, there is a lot that Kai doesn’t know about it. “What are you?”
no subject
"...What do you think I am?" he asks right back, trying to gauge the prince's reaction. This is totally a legit question, right? Because... magic?

Ky!
The young Venom's been eyeing the hero of the land for quite some time, and after a long journey, the hero Ky coming to visit the kingdom. The castle's staff has been at work for days, cleaning and preparing for the brave youth's visit. They want everything to be perfect, and will stop at nothing to accomplish it.
When the evening sets in, and everything is in place. The royal family waits patiently to welcome Ky while the prince frets quietly over meeting him.]
no subject
Still, he dare not be late, so he isn’t, entering the gates and seeing that his horse is well taken care of before he is escorted in to meet the royal family.
His bow is nothing short of polite. Since he has to be here, he might as well make the best of it.]
no subject
[They begin to chat as the prince nervously watched Ky and noted all that armor. He's much more handsome in person...]
We've prepared a special meal with all the specialties of the region. Stay for as long as you like.
[Venom's parents escort Ky to the table, where it's definitely packed with a LOT of food. As for Venom, he's keeping his distance, shyly continuing his watching.]
no subject
You've flattered me.
[Which means they can stop now if they want, he certainly hopes there won't be more than one meal like this.
Still, he'll try a little of everything, which is probably all the food he'll need.]
no subject
G-good evening, Sir Kiske.
[It's a start. Venom's not used to interactions. He's always in the library, studying and reading his days away.]

Sol or Dominic (or even Ky idk 8D WHOEVER WOULD BE MOST FUN)
Which is, naturally, exactly what the beautiful siren perched on the rock is hoping for, her eyes watching the boats full of potential prey as they sail past, a smile curling on her lips as the sailors on board fight the mystical melody.
no subject
He’s also not about to be lured into drowning, either, although he does settle on another rock just to listen for a while. The siren’s song is a nice one, to be certain, and something he could listen to for a while. If he’s also keeping an eye out for boats, while, he is a dragon. Maybe she’ll expect him to roast them.
no subject
She seems him there- he would be hard to miss- and while her eyes flicker over to him her song doesn't change. Her magic is strong, so he might feel a few affects of it, but he's certainly not like to feel like taking a swim.
no subject
“There’s a ship comin’.” Of course there’s always a boat of some sort headed one way or another, but Sol wouldn’t bother mentioning it if he didn’t think it relevant.

He’s ordered them towards the sound, and they can guess that he’s not moving away by the grim look on his face and for a moment Dominic is worried that they’ll throw this whole mission in jeopardy for the sake of some superstitions that have gone unchallenged for too long.

Alec of course~
It's times like these he doesn't mind not having a family, not being too close to anyone. No one to use against him. Leaving a few bodies behind him he wipes the blood off his sword and raps on the door they had been guarding. It's locked, but he can kick it in if it's the right one. "Tremontaine?"
no subject
That the voice is unfamiliar means nothing at all to Alec. There seems to be a semi-regular rotation of his guards, likely because if there weren’t he’d be better able to drive them into doing something idiotic. “I’m still alive, yes, but there is time to change that. I assure you, my family should thank you for it. I will.”
no subject
"No, I don't think they'd pay me if I brought back a corpse. They seem to be rather fond of you, even, given the figure they're offering." It's not the correct way to address a prince, but Richard has never cared about that. "Just a moment."
He rolls over one of the guards and searches for a key, then does the same for another and is successful this time. "I'm coming in now, Prince Tremontaine."
no subject
Despite his words, Alec is pressed with his back against the far wall when the door enters, and his eyes dart towards the open door with something closer to relief than anything else.

Sol
It's a little different when said kingdom is an invading force that's decided the dragon is simply in the way. Perhaps of use, perhaps nothing more than nuisance with a lair between them and their goal, but nevertheless something requiring address.
Instead of a knight, they sent a sorceress. A small, quiet witch with only her orders in mind, taken from some forgotten place and shaped into the perfect tool for such a quest. Her life, by and large, wouldn't affect them if it were lost.
She summons three constructs to assist her progress, fending off monsters and bandits, watching from her perch atop her familiar. It's dull. Dreadfully so. But at least it goes by quickly.
It's best to conserve her energy, anyway. For all her deep connection to the magic of the world, it isn't good to spend it needlessly. She might need to unleash it against something else, after all.
"The final obstacle."
And then she will have accomplished her task.
There's no effort to hide herself as she presses into what they've determined is the dragon's territory, either. She'll either find it first or be found; she's calculated what she can of the risk and is confidant she won't fail.
After all, these are her orders.
no subject
And that’s the most important part of all this, that he doesn’t want to be bothered.
So he’ll rouse himself when he is, going to greet the intrusion on ground that’s familiar to him.
“Y’should turn back now,” he warns, breathing out a lazy curl of fire while he’s at it.
"Before I have to smash you into the ground." She's such a little thing, too.
no subject
"You are in the way," she says, voice an airy monotone. "You have two options: assist us or disappear."
no subject
His burst of flame is much stronger this time, and much more far-reaching as well, cutting towards that cord as her presumed weakness in connection.
