Fairytale AU Meme [Open]

Pick one of my characters and I'll toss a disney/fairytale au scenario at you! I've got some rough descriptions of their roles below. You can start, or you can just give their name in a top-level and I’ll write something up. These can be shippy or not, although given the descriptions I’ll probably tend towards that way unless you tell me you don’t want that

Alec: Damsel in distress, suicidal, who thinks this whole thing is stupid and this story can be ended if anyone at any point just solves the problem of the ‘princess’ for good

Annabel: Necromancer, who tries to find love by bringing hers back from the dead

Dominic: Knight, who’s pretty sure that he’s supposed to slay the ‘dragon’ but might end up falling in love with him/her instead

I-No: The evil witch, finds delight in other people’s suffering

Ivy: The persecuted heroine, who badly wants to believe in love but doesn’t really believe that it can trump the facts of life

Kai: Prince charming, careful and earnest, hugely romantic who thinks that life’s course can be changed by love

Ky: Either the hero, earnest but not very good at people, or the damsel in distress who’s going to apologize for having to be rescued

Rose: Ghost girl, who will accept a coat in exchange for being able to touch and feel for a while

Sol: The dragon, why are you waking him up from his nap just to rescue a princess? He doesn’t have time for this crap.

Valentine: The evil king whose goal in all of this is power and also just seeing the ordinary people scramble

"No. But I can. I'd just need a way to get there." And not be recognized as the Prince.

"I could take you." But. Dragon. He would be noticed.

"Maybe to the edge of town. Oh. I'll need money though."

Ryoji thinks about this for a moment. "How much?"

"Umm..." That's a great question. "Enough?"

[dangerouslyinlove]

"What's enough?" At least give him some kind of estimate or something.

[tothealtar]

"I don't really know. I've never really had to...buy my own clothing like that."

[dangerouslyinlove]

"Oh." Hmm... "Well, I've got some gold coins and stuff. I just don't know how much it's actually worth." A lot. He's a dragon; he hoards things. He just doesn't understand actual value yet.

And Kai's grown up in a palace. "I'll see what I can get with them for you."

"Ok!" Here, Kai. He'll let you come back into the deeper caves, where there's a lot of... stuff. Just stuff. Anything Ryoji found interesting, which veers from stuffed animals to books to magic items, as well as a rather substantial pile of gold.

Kai crouches down beside one of the stuffed animal curiously, before he remembers his mission and heads towards the (less interesting) gold.

It's ok, Kai, Ryoji thinks the stuffed animals are more interesting too.

They wrangle up a little coin purse thing and Ryoji fills it with gold. "I hope that's enough..."

"Hopefully!" They'll find out, he thinks.

"Hey, is there any style in particular that you like?"

"Style?" Ryoji barely understands clothes, Kai, he has no idea what a style of them means. To him they all kind of look the same.

"Oh... I'll just get you something like what I like!"

[dangerouslyinlove]

"Ok!" He's already trusting Kai on the simple fact that these are things he would need, so... why not?

[tothealtar]

"I think we're ready to go, yeah?"

[dangerouslyinlove]

Ryoji nods. "Yeah! Stand back a bit." He has to turn back into a dragon, after all. But when he does, he'll head back out into the main cave and let Kai on his back.

Kai will climb on with the same delight as he's had every time, because this hasn't come anywhere close to being old yet.

Ryoji hums, cheerful and excited as he soars out of the cave, careful not to get too close to the town before landing. He doesn't want to freak out anyone, after all...

Flying is so awesome. Kai could do this all day. But he slides off once they're there, and leans over to give Ryoji a quick hug.

"I'll try not to take too long."

[dangerouslyinlove]

...Oh! Hugs are nice even as a dragon, apparently. There's a please trill in the back of his throat as he gently nuzzles his head into the hug. "Ok. I'll wait."

Kai gives him a grin, and then he's off on his own to bargain for clothing. He probably spends more than he should have, and there will be rumours in his wake about how maybe that was the prince, out to be generous.

But he gets more clothing than he'd expected, and also some iced cakes so his hands are full when he returns to Ryoji.

Ryoji will lay down in the field and wait patiently, taking in the sights and sounds of the woods (which he can only do when he's very still), perking up when Kai comes back. "Did you find things?" he asks hopefully.

"I did!" Kai sets down his things to dig through the bags and pull out a shirt that he's the least sure of but things the dragon will like the most.
