Fairytale AU Meme [Open]

Pick one of my characters and I'll toss a disney/fairytale au scenario at you! I've got some rough descriptions of their roles below. You can start, or you can just give their name in a top-level and I’ll write something up. These can be shippy or not, although given the descriptions I’ll probably tend towards that way unless you tell me you don’t want that

Alec: Damsel in distress, suicidal, who thinks this whole thing is stupid and this story can be ended if anyone at any point just solves the problem of the ‘princess’ for good

Annabel: Necromancer, who tries to find love by bringing hers back from the dead

Dominic: Knight, who’s pretty sure that he’s supposed to slay the ‘dragon’ but might end up falling in love with him/her instead

I-No: The evil witch, finds delight in other people’s suffering

Ivy: The persecuted heroine, who badly wants to believe in love but doesn’t really believe that it can trump the facts of life

Kai: Prince charming, careful and earnest, hugely romantic who thinks that life’s course can be changed by love

Ky: Either the hero, earnest but not very good at people, or the damsel in distress who’s going to apologize for having to be rescued

Rose: Ghost girl, who will accept a coat in exchange for being able to touch and feel for a while

Sol: The dragon, why are you waking him up from his nap just to rescue a princess? He doesn’t have time for this crap.

Valentine: The evil king whose goal in all of this is power and also just seeing the ordinary people scramble

Kai gives him a grin, and then he's off on his own to bargain for clothing. He probably spends more than he should have, and there will be rumours in his wake about how maybe that was the prince, out to be generous.

But he gets more clothing than he'd expected, and also some iced cakes so his hands are full when he returns to Ryoji.

Ryoji will lay down in the field and wait patiently, taking in the sights and sounds of the woods (which he can only do when he's very still), perking up when Kai comes back. "Did you find things?" he asks hopefully.

"I did!" Kai sets down his things to dig through the bags and pull out a shirt that he's the least sure of but things the dragon will like the most.

Most people would probably recognize that that is a terrible shirt, but... Ryoji's a dragon with no concept of fashion who also likes gold colored things. "Oooh..." he says, eyes wide, "That's really shiny!"

Kai hadn't meant it as an insult, at least. It just seems like something the dragon would like. "Great! You can see the rest once we're back."

"Ok!" He's kind of excited now, crouching once more for Kai to climb on his back.

Back to the cave they go! And Kai is kind of nervous, hoping that Ryoji will like what he has.

Ryoji lands in the cave, letting Kai slip off and settling down so Kai can show him everything. He probably shouldn't change into human yet.

The glittery shirt is the most outrageous thing, but the rest of the clothing will at least attract less attention.

Kai keeps the cakes hidden for now.

Ryoji likes all of them! "Should I turn human to try them?" he asks. He's still not sure how he feels about wearing clothes, but...

"Well they're not going to fit on you like how you are now." Wearing clothes is great, Ryoji.

[dangerouslyinlove]

Ryoji's not sure about that, but he'll turn into a person and try these on. ...He might need some assistance because clothes are weird.

Kai's just going to hold out the boxers with his eyes closed and his head turned politely away. Don't make this weird, man.

He's trying not to! But clothes are weird and tricky. Boxers are at least pretty straightforward so that's good. Pants are trickier. Shirts make no sense. Please don't try to make him wear shoes.

With boxers on, Kai is willing to help, first giving Ryoji a pair of pants and then letting him pick what shirt he wants. It's totally going to be the sparkly one, isn't it?

It's definitely going to be the sparkly one, at least for now. But with a little effort, he's dressed. "...This feels weird," he says, as he begins to realize the restriction of clothing.

Kai makes a bit of a face at him. "What do you mean it feels weird?" What about clothing is weird?

"I dunno, it's just..." There's stuff on him and it's unusual. "...I'll try to get used to them."

[tothealtar]

That's the spirit. Kai brightens. "I got you a surprise, too."

[dangerouslyinlove]

Oh! Ryoji perks up a bit. "A surprise?"

[tothealtar]

Kai holds out the iced cake. "It's really delicious."

[dangerouslyinlove]

Ryoji will take it, looking it over- it doesn't look like anything he's ever had before so he's very curious! And of course will share with Kai, but when he does take a bite his eyes go wide. "Wow... that's really good!"

"Of course it is!" But see how great being a human is, Ryoji? You get great food and sparkly clothing. Ryoji should just stay a human all the time.

Ryoji can't stay human all the time. At least not yet. "Do humans always eat things like this?"

[tothealtar]

Ryoji is onto him. "No. It wouldn't be very healthy and you probably wouldn't feel great if it was all you ate. But one a day should be fine."
