Fairytale AU Meme [Open]

Pick one of my characters and I'll toss a disney/fairytale au scenario at you! I've got some rough descriptions of their roles below. You can start, or you can just give their name in a top-level and I’ll write something up. These can be shippy or not, although given the descriptions I’ll probably tend towards that way unless you tell me you don’t want that

Alec: Damsel in distress, suicidal, who thinks this whole thing is stupid and this story can be ended if anyone at any point just solves the problem of the ‘princess’ for good

Annabel: Necromancer, who tries to find love by bringing hers back from the dead

Dominic: Knight, who’s pretty sure that he’s supposed to slay the ‘dragon’ but might end up falling in love with him/her instead

I-No: The evil witch, finds delight in other people’s suffering

Ivy: The persecuted heroine, who badly wants to believe in love but doesn’t really believe that it can trump the facts of life

Kai: Prince charming, careful and earnest, hugely romantic who thinks that life’s course can be changed by love

Ky: Either the hero, earnest but not very good at people, or the damsel in distress who’s going to apologize for having to be rescued

Rose: Ghost girl, who will accept a coat in exchange for being able to touch and feel for a while

Sol: The dragon, why are you waking him up from his nap just to rescue a princess? He doesn’t have time for this crap.

Valentine: The evil king whose goal in all of this is power and also just seeing the ordinary people scramble

Ryoji sighs. "I'm fine. Do you want to go now?" That's the answer he's afraid of, really.

"Yes. Don't worry. It will be fine." Or it won't, but in that case Kai will probably be dead and Ryoji won't be able to call him out on it.

That is not fine at all!! Ryoji will flutter up to sit on Kai's shoulder, not quite wanting to leave just yet. He... has his suspicions what will happen if this all goes wrong. "Don't you need to eat or something?"

"My men will need to time to gather their forces. I can eat while they're doing that, and you're recovering." See, no time to worry.

[dangerouslyinlove]

"Promise?" He's not taking you unless you promise you will eat food.

[tothealtar]

"Yes I promise." Unless circumstances change, but that's not expected, so it's fine.

"Now let's go."

[dangerouslyinlove]

"Alright." He's not sure he believes you, but his puppy dragon eyes don't appear to be working so he'll get ready to fly them back to the castle.

Kai really does have the best of intentions, it's just that he knows there are some risks.

Still, they'll find out how it will go once they get started.

He morphs into his larger form again and, once Kai is on securely, takes off towards the castle. It's a little bit of a mystery how they actually get Kai in the castle without alerting Levana, but they do and he can round up his troops.

And Ryoji will make sure he eats.

Ryoji doesn't have to do much, because shifting the orders from searching for their lost Emperor and mobilizing to attack gives Kai plenty of time to find a bite.

It's harder to want to eat, but his promise to Ryoji does him at least this much good, and Kai shoves in bites in between his pacing while he waits for the right people to gather.

Oh good. Ryoji will curl up on Kai's shoulders then, if he's allowed, resting up a little bit more before flying everyone out. ...He hopes Kai stays safely here, when that happens.

Of course Kai has other plans, and he doesn't mean for them to be up for discussion.

"This is the first group." And it includes him.

Damnit Kai. "Why are you going?" He didn't agree to this!!

[tothealtar]

"So someone can direct the battle and accept surrenders." Not that directing the fight will be done from the sidelines.

Kaiii. You better have, like. The most armor. Humans are squishy. "Have you done this before?"

[tothealtar]

"I've trained." And he has armor. It identifies him pretty clearly, but it also protects his squishy bits. "I can't stay out of this."

Ryoji senses pretty quickly that he is not going to win this argument. He looks very pouty, though, settling down so everyone can climb on.

That was honestly easier than Kai thought it would be, but he's not going to push his luck. He needs to stay focused on the battle and he can think about the rest after that. He climbs aboard and speaks soft words to the others so they can be more relaxed about the idea of being carried on a dragon.

Ryoji's kind of tired of arguing. And doesn't want Kai to be mad at him or send him away again. So even though he is a very grumpy dragon, he will be good. He'll wait until everyone is on and secure before taking off, flying towards Levana's lands.

Kai will just have to lead his people to glorious victory. Good thing he has plenty of good reasons to do exactly that, and when he's landed he's all business except for a brief stroke of his hand behind Ryoji's ear.

That does calm him a little, and Ryoji will gently nudge him in return. "Is there another group?" he asks. He really doesn't want to leave Kai, but...

"Yes. I've instructed to be waiting for you. Drop them off in this same place if you can. We'll pick them up." Until then, maybe they should find somewhere less open to wait, and engage in some sabotage and infiltration.

[dangerouslyinlove]

"Ok..." Ryoji nudge him gently. "Be safe, ok?" And then he'll fly off back towards the castle- it's faster when he's not carrying anyone, at least...

Kai will do his best, because he needs to stay safe to win and he needs to win in order to protect his people. So off they are, to defeat Levanan for once and forever.

Ryoji will fly back to the castle, acquire some more rather wary knights, and fly back without much trouble. If the group isn't there to meet them, however, he will go looking for them.
