Fairytale AU Meme [Open]

Pick one of my characters and I'll toss a disney/fairytale au scenario at you! I've got some rough descriptions of their roles below. You can start, or you can just give their name in a top-level and I’ll write something up. These can be shippy or not, although given the descriptions I’ll probably tend towards that way unless you tell me you don’t want that

Alec: Damsel in distress, suicidal, who thinks this whole thing is stupid and this story can be ended if anyone at any point just solves the problem of the ‘princess’ for good

Annabel: Necromancer, who tries to find love by bringing hers back from the dead

Dominic: Knight, who’s pretty sure that he’s supposed to slay the ‘dragon’ but might end up falling in love with him/her instead

I-No: The evil witch, finds delight in other people’s suffering

Ivy: The persecuted heroine, who badly wants to believe in love but doesn’t really believe that it can trump the facts of life

Kai: Prince charming, careful and earnest, hugely romantic who thinks that life’s course can be changed by love

Ky: Either the hero, earnest but not very good at people, or the damsel in distress who’s going to apologize for having to be rescued

Rose: Ghost girl, who will accept a coat in exchange for being able to touch and feel for a while

Sol: The dragon, why are you waking him up from his nap just to rescue a princess? He doesn’t have time for this crap.

Valentine: The evil king whose goal in all of this is power and also just seeing the ordinary people scramble

[Ky knows this to be a part of his duty and his mission, but he can’t help being a tiny bit irritated at the idea of it all. There are things that he should be doing, and enjoying a dinner feels a little too much like resting on his laurels.

Still, he dare not be late, so he isn’t, entering the gates and seeing that his horse is well taken care of before he is escorted in to meet the royal family.

His bow is nothing short of polite. Since he has to be here, he might as well make the best of it.]

Welcome to our realm, Sir Kiske.

[They begin to chat as the prince nervously watched Ky and noted all that armor. He's much more handsome in person...]

We've prepared a special meal with all the specialties of the region. Stay for as long as you like.

[Venom's parents escort Ky to the table, where it's definitely packed with a LOT of food. As for Venom, he's keeping his distance, shyly continuing his watching.]

[Ky blinks a little when he sees all the food that's been placed out for him.]

You've flattered me.

[Which means they can stop now if they want, he certainly hopes there won't be more than one meal like this.

Still, he'll try a little of everything, which is probably all the food he'll need.]

[The king and queen will be going off to partake as well, leaving their prince to approach the hero. The poor boy is very nervous, meeting the man who has accomplished many great things in the name of peace and justice.]

G-good evening, Sir Kiske.

[It's a start. Venom's not used to interactions. He's always in the library, studying and reading his days away.]

And to you, Prince Venom.

[The smile is automatic, and it's not faked, so that should be a start from his end as well.]

My parents like to put on these large parties for visitors. You don't have to eat everything.

[He offers his own awkward, but cute, smile.]

So this is more for them, really, than me?

[Ky doesn't relax, but the idea does make him more comfortable.]

Well they did want you to feel welcome. They're generous people.

[Venom picks up a few pieces of shrimp for nibbling.]

You must at least try our seafood. Our kingdom is renowned for it.

I'm just not used to such ceremony.

[This isn't the fare one eats while actually doing hero things, but he'll follow the Prince's lead and nibble at a piece of shrimp.]

This is one of the larger ones they've thrown. They really like you and what you've done for your people.

[Venom almost follows up with 'I like you too' but that would have been awkward. He's going to move on to another dish.]

I don't need thanks.

[Really, he would have done it anyway.]

It's enough for people to be saved.

You have a kind heart, Sir Kiske.

[Without thinking, the prince places his hand on Ky's chest. His warm resonates through Venom briefly before he realizes what he's doing.]

S-sorry.

[He quickly pulls away.]

[Ky's cheeks are pink, and he ducks his head.]

I-It's fine.

[Ky shouldn't feel so self-conscious about it, at least.]

Let me get you something to drink.

[He fetches a servant to grab them both a little bit of wine. A short while later, the servant returns with two small goblets.]

This is from my family's favorite vineyard. It's not easily found outside our kingdom.

Oh. Thank you.

[Ky takes a small sip, then offers up a polite smile.]

[Venom takes a slightly larger sip.]

And if you need anything at all, do not hesitate to ask. You are our honored guest.

[A slight blush graces his cheeks.]

Ah, thank you.

I'm not -- I can survive just fine in the field, so I'm sure I'll be fine here.

Then please, enjoy.

[Venom steps aside, though he wants to talk more to the young hero. But that means being social... He takes a deep breath.]

I can only imagine how many places you've seen, Sir Kiske.

A number, I suppose.

Is there any in particular which you'd like to hear of?

Is it true you once went to a land where they had numerous dragons and you had to fight them all?

[closedcircuit]

Not quite.

[Ky's smile is soft and embarrassed]

It's true that there were many of them, but there was a range. In the end I only had to fight four of them, and only two at once.

That's amazing. The only dragons I've ever seen are those common green ones. And even then it's only in the distance.

I cannot imagine fighting four of them!

[Ky colors a little, embarrassed and unsure of how to react.]

It's just what was necessary.

Still, you're very brave.

But admittedly, I've never left our kingdom. I wish I was brave like you so I could see the world like you have.

Perhaps it would be better if, the first time, you had a companion that you trusted.
