Fairytale AU Meme [Open]

Pick one of my characters and I'll toss a disney/fairytale au scenario at you! I've got some rough descriptions of their roles below. You can start, or you can just give their name in a top-level and I’ll write something up. These can be shippy or not, although given the descriptions I’ll probably tend towards that way unless you tell me you don’t want that

Alec: Damsel in distress, suicidal, who thinks this whole thing is stupid and this story can be ended if anyone at any point just solves the problem of the ‘princess’ for good

Annabel: Necromancer, who tries to find love by bringing hers back from the dead

Dominic: Knight, who’s pretty sure that he’s supposed to slay the ‘dragon’ but might end up falling in love with him/her instead

I-No: The evil witch, finds delight in other people’s suffering

Ivy: The persecuted heroine, who badly wants to believe in love but doesn’t really believe that it can trump the facts of life

Kai: Prince charming, careful and earnest, hugely romantic who thinks that life’s course can be changed by love

Ky: Either the hero, earnest but not very good at people, or the damsel in distress who’s going to apologize for having to be rescued

Rose: Ghost girl, who will accept a coat in exchange for being able to touch and feel for a while

Sol: The dragon, why are you waking him up from his nap just to rescue a princess? He doesn’t have time for this crap.

Valentine: The evil king whose goal in all of this is power and also just seeing the ordinary people scramble

Dragons eat food too, don’t they? Maybe they can share. Kai’s smile when he looks at Ryoji, when Ryoji is closer to him, is bright. “What sort of something? Are you going to learn more magic?”

Ryoji nods. "Yup! I remembered, I'm pretty sure there's a spell that lets you have a human form! So I thought I could try that one next."

“A human form?” Kai sounds rather instantly delighted. “That would be neat. Ooh, we could go to a village, and we’d be in disguise!”

"Yeah!" Ryoji grins, a toothy little dragon smile. "It would be fun! It'll probably take me a few days to get it, and then I'll have to practice so I can hold it up long enough to go anywhere."

"I'll help you practice!" No, Kai isn't really sure how he'd help, but he's not thinking about that, just the joy of having a new friend who has all sorts of cool tricks.

Ryoji grins- Kai probably can't really help him a lot, but... being encouraging is being helpful, right? "Thanks!"

He can say when things look weird. "We should have breakfast, right?" Surely breakfast will just appear when they decide it's time for it.

"Oh! Right." Though... hm. Ryoji kind of peers at what Kai brought. "...What do humans eat?"

[tothealtar]

"Food. Animals -- cooked -- or vegetables." No minerals, though. Except those that are found in animals or vegetables.

"Oh." Ryoji has to think about this for a moment. "I might have some vegetables... how do you 'cook' animals?"

Oh. Maybe they should not talk about this. Kai doesn't know if Ryoji is a vegetarian, although he's a dragon.

"Like, with fire?"

No, dragons are not vegetarian. They just eat things raw.

"Oh. Really?" Hmmmm. "Well, I can make a fire, and I can get an animal?" Does that work?

"Or I can just eat vegetables. I don't actually know...all the cooking requirements."

But he's pretty sure that vegetables are less complicated.

"I'm not sure I have vegetables..." Not as good for dragons. "But we can try and find some? Where do you find vegetables?"

"The market." They totally win at practical real-life skills. "Or the garden."

[dangerouslyinlove]

"So... people places." That Ryoji can't get to. Because dragon.

This is going to be harder than he thought.

"I think so. But I guess they have to come from somewhere." Not just other gardens? Or maybe just other gardens.

[dangerouslyinlove]

"Hm..." Well, Ryoji definitely doesn't want him to starve, so he'll get up. "We can go flying and see what we find?"

"Sure." That way Kai can...identify food. Sure.

But he's looking forward to flying again.

"If you don't mind?"

[dangerouslyinlove]

"Not at all!" Ryoji also enjoys flying. Which is good, because dragon. He'll move away from Kai enough that he can change back into big dragon form without hurting him, waiting for the boy to climb on.

Kai grins as he moves, climbing aboard. Maybe they should have to go out for something every day.

Ryoji goes out pretty often anyway, so that might happen. But once Kai's on securely, he'll swoop out of the cave, soaring across the land.

Kai's laughing with delight and trying to watch everything, despite the breeze making it difficult. He needs to find food, after all.

They will swoop over a couple of farms and things, but anything they'll find will clearly belong to someone. (Not that this bothers Ryoji, really.)

Kai will point at one of them, because he's studied maps of his kingdom, and that farmer is always saying rude things about his daughters one instant and trying to marry one of them off to Kai the next. "Over there."
