Fairytale AU Meme [Open]

Pick one of my characters and I'll toss a disney/fairytale au scenario at you! I've got some rough descriptions of their roles below. You can start, or you can just give their name in a top-level and I’ll write something up. These can be shippy or not, although given the descriptions I’ll probably tend towards that way unless you tell me you don’t want that

Alec: Damsel in distress, suicidal, who thinks this whole thing is stupid and this story can be ended if anyone at any point just solves the problem of the ‘princess’ for good

Annabel: Necromancer, who tries to find love by bringing hers back from the dead

Dominic: Knight, who’s pretty sure that he’s supposed to slay the ‘dragon’ but might end up falling in love with him/her instead

I-No: The evil witch, finds delight in other people’s suffering

Ivy: The persecuted heroine, who badly wants to believe in love but doesn’t really believe that it can trump the facts of life

Kai: Prince charming, careful and earnest, hugely romantic who thinks that life’s course can be changed by love

Ky: Either the hero, earnest but not very good at people, or the damsel in distress who’s going to apologize for having to be rescued

Rose: Ghost girl, who will accept a coat in exchange for being able to touch and feel for a while

Sol: The dragon, why are you waking him up from his nap just to rescue a princess? He doesn’t have time for this crap.

Valentine: The evil king whose goal in all of this is power and also just seeing the ordinary people scramble

"Cakes, of course. Cookies. Cheese is pretty good. ... Hey, is digesting that going to be a problem if you turn back to a dragon before you're done?"

Ryoji blinks at him. "Digestion?" He's not entirely sure he knows what you mean.

"The food making its way through your body. Like how cats eat meat."

[dangerouslyinlove]

"Oh." Hm. "I'm not sure. I think dragons can have cake..." Dragons can eat whatever they want, really.

"It won't make you sick?" Kai doesn't want Ryoji to get sick.

[dangerouslyinlove]

"I don't think so?" He should be ok. "I guess we'll find out."

[tothealtar]

"If you have to throw up, please do it outside the cave? And I'm sorry."

[dangerouslyinlove]

Ryoji chuckles. "I think I'll be ok." He turns back into a dragon (after taking off clothes so he doesn't tear them), curling up in his corner of the cave. Nope, still feels fine!

Kai's going to warily watch him for a while, because what if he needs to try to find a village doctor or something? Or just get Ryoji actual dragon food...

Nope, he's fine. He's happy, really. Even if he still has to practice a lot to try and be human, today was fun!

Kai will stay there for a while, and then he'll eventually start to fidget.

"So, what do you do for fun?"

[dangerouslyinlove]

"Um..." Ryoji has to think. "I fly! And I read books. And, um... that's about it right now. I hope I'll be able to do more when I get used to other forms, though. What about you?"

"Read books and listen to the bards and learn to fight." Even if he still had to mostly stick with a wooden sword for now.

"What kind of things do bards tell you?" They sound interesting.

[tothealtar]

"Oh all sorts of things! Like about princesses and far-off lands and ancient battles. And dragons, although I guess they weren't very right about them."

[dangerouslyinlove]

"They usually aren't..." Which maybe should cast doubt on their other stories, but Ryoji's curious. "What about far off lands and stuff?"

"Oh, they sound very exciting. They're not like us at all. In some there are giant ponds of water with giant fish and so much sand that you can't see anything green."

"Wow..." Ryoji hasn't seen all that much out of the mountains either, so. "Maybe we should go try to find them!"

Hah. "Maybe..." But then again, why not? They're both free, aren't they? No one will miss them, or not any more than they've already missed Kai. "We could just pick a direction."

Ryoji grins, thinking that over. "Yeah! And I'm sure it won't take that long with flying..."

"Do you know how fast you're going, when you're flying?" Can they keep track of how far they've gone?

[dangerouslyinlove]

"Sort... of?" It's not precise by any means, but he has a vague idea.

"Ooh! What's the fastest you can go?"

[dangerouslyinlove]

"Um... about [a reasonably fast speed at which dragons can travel??? idk.] I guess?" Ryoji shrugs, "I know where I can get to pretty easily, at least."

"That's....wow. Are you sure?" Look, that's really fast compared to...horses.
