Fairytale AU Meme [Open]

Pick one of my characters and I'll toss a disney/fairytale au scenario at you! I've got some rough descriptions of their roles below. You can start, or you can just give their name in a top-level and I’ll write something up. These can be shippy or not, although given the descriptions I’ll probably tend towards that way unless you tell me you don’t want that

Alec: Damsel in distress, suicidal, who thinks this whole thing is stupid and this story can be ended if anyone at any point just solves the problem of the ‘princess’ for good

Annabel: Necromancer, who tries to find love by bringing hers back from the dead

Dominic: Knight, who’s pretty sure that he’s supposed to slay the ‘dragon’ but might end up falling in love with him/her instead

I-No: The evil witch, finds delight in other people’s suffering

Ivy: The persecuted heroine, who badly wants to believe in love but doesn’t really believe that it can trump the facts of life

Kai: Prince charming, careful and earnest, hugely romantic who thinks that life’s course can be changed by love

Ky: Either the hero, earnest but not very good at people, or the damsel in distress who’s going to apologize for having to be rescued

Rose: Ghost girl, who will accept a coat in exchange for being able to touch and feel for a while

Sol: The dragon, why are you waking him up from his nap just to rescue a princess? He doesn’t have time for this crap.

Valentine: The evil king whose goal in all of this is power and also just seeing the ordinary people scramble

Kai's going to be too nervous and excited to sleep well anyway.

And hey, Ryoji has clothes now! That makes him look awesome as a human.

He does! And he will put those one, even. Though he might wind up trying to cuddle with Kai as a person.

Kai's a little startled when it happens, but after a moment he turns to give Ryoji a reciprocating hug.

Hooray, hugs! Ryoji will settle right where he is for a bit, nuzzling Kai. It's much nicer to cuddle like this, when he can feel how warm Kai is.

Kai's had a long day, so he will actually start to drift off to sleep as they cuddle.

Awww, he looks cute like that. Though... Ryoji sort of realizes he's stuck now. Hopefully he can hold this form for a while.

They'll find out, because Kai is just...not moving or waking up.

...Ryoji might quietly check to make sure he's still alive because sleeping humans look an awful lot like dead humans, but he'll just try to stay where he is for now.

He's definitely still alive. Just the exhaustion from too much adventure has finally caught up with him.

Ok, well, alive is good. Ryoji will just cuddle into him, resting his head on Kai's arm as he continues to cuddle. He won't move until the strain of holding this form becomes too much.

When that does happen, Kai simply makes a sleepy objection, and shifts his position to go back to sleep.

Sorry, Kai. He didn't want to move, but he didn't want to squish you by turning into a dragon either. Ryoji'll settle for turning back to normal and then curling himself around Kai protectively.

Eventually the next day, Kai will wake up and make little unhappy noises as he moves into full consciousness.

Oh nooo Ryoji does not like unhappy noises. Ryoji will nudge him a little with his big dragon head. "Are you ok...?"

They're just waking up noises that fade as Kai becomes more aware of himself.

"Yes." Then, after a moment, more enthusiastically, "Yes!"

Oh good. Ryoji with gently dragon nuzzle him, then. "Good! Did you sleep well?"

Kai throws his arms around Ryoji in a hug. "Pretty great, I think. What about you?"

Hugs are good even when he's not in his human form. He just can't return it right now. "Good!" Ryoji will be sad when Kai leaves, though...

"Ready to visit a castle?" He'll just have to keep visiting.

[dangerouslyinlove]

"Yeah, I think so." Ryoji nudges Kai's head gently. "Whenever you want to go..."

[tothealtar]

"Just let me..." And then Kai trails off but he does focus on stretching and then packing up his things.

Ryoji will mostly follow him around, though as a dragon it's slightly less following and more just moving to watch him as he goes around. He is a dragon. He doesn't need much, especially since it's not like he can stay at the castle forever...

"Okay, I'm ready to go." Kai didn't have much anyway, and he's gathering up the clothing he got for Ryoji but only so that he can wear it at the castle.

"Ok!" It's a good thing Kai grabbed that because Ryoji would have totally forgotten. He'll wait for Kai to get on!

Kai's both excited and nervous about this. But mostly excited, because he can't imagine anyone not liking Ryoji.
