[Having a drink or two hadn't seemed like that bad of an idea and now that he's done it Ky still doesn't think it was one. Although he does have to keep glancing back at his new tail, worried he's going to knock something or someone over.

It's kind of a pleasant feeling, being drunk, like it makes the whole world seem a little softer, a little less like something Ky has to march through to get to his destination. And it seems a little less important to keep himself separate from other people just to keep his distance, and a little more like he would kind of like a hug. He stops to think about it, knowing that there might be consequences and that the alcohol he's had is probably fuzzing his brain up a little, but he thinks he can handle whatever might happen. It seems worth it, to be a little less lonely.

Ky makes his way to the bar, where Jade is working, and gives him a half-smile, and a nod. Jade also looks like a fox, perhaps that means he also wants a hug.]

Jade, can I talk to you for a minute?

[Jade had been working despite the curse, almost swearing at the stupid tail a few times. But by the time Ky got to him, Jade had enough control to keep it out of the way. Seeing the man, Jade was confused, but he smiled at him.]

Seems we're brothers in arms, today.

[Ky offered a half-smile.]

It does, doesn't it?

Are you busy?

[bootsweremadeforcasting]

[Jade shook his head.]

Not at the moment. It's rather slow.

[closedcircuit]

Of course.

[ This was awkward. How did he even go about asking for a hug? ]

Would you mind stepping out from behind the bar for a moment?

[bootsweremadeforcasting]

[A small bit of confusion spread over Jade's face, but he complied, and a moment later, he had set his things aside to step out and face Ky.]

Now, what exactly is it you needed?

[Words were difficult, and embarrassing, so Ky didn't bother. Instead he stepped in, engulfing the other man in a hug.]

[bootsweremadeforcasting]

[Aside from the odd little noise Jade made, his tail went board straight and he followed it, tensing up and looking at Ky with thinly veiled confusion.]

I-- I'm sorry.

[ Ky stepped quickly away. ]

Did I hurt you?

[bootsweremadeforcasting]

No, it was... unexpected.

[Very confused Jade.]

[closedcircuit]

Oh. Sorry.

[But he should be expecting it now, right? So Ky's going in for another hug.]

[bootsweremadeforcasting]

[And Jade is utterly confused, but his tail swishes and his ears twitch behind him this time.]

Is there a reason for the hugging..?

Ahh. Not really. It just seemed like it would be comfortable.

It is!

[Not letting go of Jade right now.]

[bootsweremadeforcasting]

[Well, Jade's not shoving him off. His tail flickers about at his ears flick forward to listen to Ky.]

I suppose it is.

[Oh, look, a rare moment of honesty. Wave at it as it passes by.]

[ Why do that when he can shift closer, and get that hug a little better? It's a little awkward with Jade taller than him, he thinks. ]

We could do this better sitting down.

[bootsweremadeforcasting]

[Jade looks apprehensively at Ky, unsure how to react at first before he sighs.]

I suppose.

[The bar could be left unattended for a bit and it'd been a while since Jade had had some time to sit. His knees weren't appreciative.]

[ Ky leads the way to a couch, sitting down and waiting for Jade to join him before promptly shifting over whatever space Jade might have been trying to keep to attach to the other man's side. ]

How has your day been so far?

[bootsweremadeforcasting]

[Jade looked at the bar when they'd sat down, and looked at Ky when he decided to press against him, a passive look on his face. Close contact was a funny thing to adjust to, but whether it was being part fox or simply an odd day, Jade didn't mind for once. He tucked his feet up under him and to the side comfortably, tail lazily laying on the attached Ky.]

Moderately busy. Luckily I don't really have to entertain guests. I trust yours has been fair, curse aside?

[ Ky leaned in a little more. Being this close to Jade was sending a sort of warmth through him. It was comfortable.

Ky started to rub Jade's back, lightly. ]

Yeah. I'm glad the curse doesn't stop me from working.

Do you find the work that you do here...meaningful?

[bootsweremadeforcasting]

[Jade shifted a bit when Ky rubbed at his back, looking pleased as the movement allowed Ky access to more of his back.]

At the bar? Not really. It's more something to pass the time.

[closedcircuit]

Is it enough to simple pass time? Rather than doing anything more with it?

[ Ky keeps going with the back rub, making a pleased little noise at one point that turns his own cheeks red. ]

[bootsweremadeforcasting]

[Jade shifts to move from Ky's attachment to himself, and Ky now has a lapJade. Backrubs, please.]

I don't see going anywhere with it. It's enough to keep my hands busy.

[Ky's cheeks turn even redder, but he tentatively reaches forward to rub Jade's back, easier from this position.]

But not your mind, right?

[bootsweremadeforcasting]

Alas, unfortunately not.

[Jade's fighting between dignity and backrubs and dignity is losing as he settles happily like an oversized cat.]

[ Oh, well. That does feel good. Ky makes another happy little noise. ]

Well, there are other things for that, at least.

[Jade's large, bushy tail shifted and moved to rest around one of Ky's arms lightly as Jade tucked his legs up a bit. He's rather glad he'd accepted the move now.]
