Ryoji doesn't stop flying until he reaches his cave, immediately burrowing himself in a pile of gold for comfort, as dragons are wont to do. The week that follows is a largely miserable one for him, alternating between desperately trying seek comfort from what remains of his hoard and setting fire to anything that hurts too much to look at.

But he still needs to eat, and while Ryoji's always been very careful about where he gets his food, he doesn't have the energy for that. So he'll fly out when he's hungry, not particularly mindful of if he's taking animals from people or not, or how much it worries people when he flies over.

...He might be doing most of this in a certain neighboring country, too, a lash out at a queen who certainly doesn't have the best interests of others at heart.
