Dominic doesn't like being protected because he doesn't like needing protection. He wants to be able to stand up for himself, and he knows that a lot of this hasn't been easy for Wesley, doesn't want to make things any more difficult.

He doesn't like the collar, he doesn't like this place, but all he does is wrap his foot around Wesley's ankle when Wesley gathers him close. He knows it won't help right now if he tries to stand up for himself so he lets Wesley do it. He's fantasizing about stabbing one of the guards -- especially when the man lets his eyes deliberately linger on Dominic.

"There are rules," the guard warns.
