The girl next to him has very bright blue hair. Kai hadn’t been sure hair comes in that color, and he’s still relatively certainly that it doesn’t, not naturally, but that doesn’t change the effect it has. Of course Kai has noticed her before, but more in that passing ‘I guess there really are all sorts in college’ observation than anything more.

She probably has an interesting personality, but the color of her hair has provided neither a compelling argument towards him speaking with her, nor a good reason he hasn’t.

Her sitting next to him and addressing him, on the other one, does a better job of the former. “Oh, hi. I’m Kaito.” A shrug. “You can call me Kai, if you want.”
