firesealed: (emotion: unimpressed)

Sol, on the other hand, isn't someone who changes a lot. Between his sophomore year and now, Sol has gotten a lot more involved in his on-campus research, to the point where he practically lives in the lab. And not in the way that many students do, no, Sol has a coffeemaker and a comfortable enough chair to take a nap in, but he still comes back to his dorm room for more sleep.

Which is why Legault might not see him much, but every once in a while Sol decides that it is worth the effort to do more than order a couple of pizzas and eat leftovers for a couple of days, which is when he can be found in the kitchen, ingredients all around him and some chopped vegetables and ground beef shimmering on the stove.

As far as Sol is concerned, his roommate exists only to be a nuisance to him, but that had been true the year before, and held true for every roommate that Sol had ever had. If he could afford a single he might do that, but they're usually a minor irritation at worst. Legault, in fact, has been better than Sol had expected him to be, and if he's a little chatty, Sol can make a point of not being around.

"I prefer boring," Sol says, because dramatic fights aren't really his thing, and nor is idle chit chat. In fact, he exists in a fairly continual state of silence or Queen music. He's also not someone who considers much if he's being rude, or thinks it matters of the answer to that quandary would be yes.

So Sol focuses on chopping his green peppers, only half his attention on any response Legault may give. The fact that he has a kitchen is a very important part of his college experience, or at least his living experience.
