Kai hadn't been planning on causing trouble. He never did, but that didn't keep it from happening.

Two dead bodies probably counted as trouble.

Kai stared at them a moment longer, shaking his head. Nothing much to do about it now, other than make sure he didn't become one of them.

Ten minutes later he'd tossed his blood-covered leather gloves, tucked his gun back away, and was stepping into a crowded subway care.

"Excuse me," he said, sliding into an empty enough place to stand near the middle of the car.
